The commune of Port-a-Piment recorded significant damage, particularly in the two communal sections of Paricot and Balais. There were several deaths and injuries, mainly due to landslides. As a result of the landslides, many residents are blocked from paths that lead to schools, markets, stores and medical facilities where they can purchase food and much needed supplies. This project will provide jobs and help rebuild and clear up the paths for residents to gain access to areas where they can receive resources and support.
